Powerful universal motor with 1050 watts with manual tool change system and digital control option - extremely robust and optimized for milling work of all kinds - particularly suitable for use on portal milling machines or CNC routers.
The FME-U DI offers a completely new concept. For the first time, spindle bearings are used in a stable, robust aluminum body for optimum precision and minimum wear.
Changing cutters etc. is possible in seconds and without tools - a revolution.
DI stands for direct control option via the controller. There, the speed required for the application can be selected or programmed directly. This reduces noise; the duty cycle can be increased; wear is reduced.
The motor is attached directly and torsionally rigid to the gantry via 4 threaded connections.
Motor, bearings, seals are designed for use at longer duty cycle.
Full shaft control electronics ensures equal speed even during hard milling work. Speed preselection and soft start are a matter of course with AMB.
Motor is protective insulated and offers maximum safety against external influences.
Electronics are perfectly protected against dust and external influences by complete potting - in comparison, other suppliers often work with unprotected electronics with a shorter service life.
.Electronic thermal overload protection protects against overheating.
Original carbon brushes Made in Germany - with integrated shutdown. This prevents the collector from being damaged when the carbon is worn out. Additional silicone cushions between carbon and contact spring provide long service life through vibration damping.
Various applications - for inclusion in e.g.: CNC gantries (routers), routers, milling jigs, drill stands,...
.The ER16 collet holder complies with industry standards and is available everywhere in the world.
Unmatched light weight at only 3.4 kg.
Exceptionally slim design for the smallest possible space requirement during installation and ergonomically comfortable handling when used freely, e.g. as a straight grinder or similar.
Quick-change power cord can be changed directly on the machine and is available in lengths up to 7.5 meters.
The original Kress power cord module is technically unrivaled and makes it possible to change the device directly on the machine. The power supply does not have to be changed at the source (socket). It could not be simpler. This also allows several devices to be supplied with only one" cable when changing.

FAQ
F: I bought cheap ER16 collets from Asia on the net. However, out of 5 collets, only three fit in the holder from AMB now. The cutter can be inserted even with loose collet only with significant resistance. What can be the reason for this? A: such questions reach us more often. Unfortunately, not everything that is offered "cheap" on the WWW is also good. Paper is known to be patient - producing collets with 4Mhy runout "cheaply" does not work. In this case, the inside diameter is outside the tolerance and therefore too narrow. This means that the clamping system can no longer grip the collet. OUR TIP: such collets back to the manufacturer and buy precision tool Made in Germany.
.F: Is the clamping depth of the tool always the same? A: Yes, inside is an adjustable depth stop that moves backwards in sync with the lever movement, so the tool is always clamped the same (the system is patent pending).
.F: How exactly can tools be clamped in a repeatable manner? A: The repeatability of the depth stop is about 1-2/100mm.
.F: How is the tool attached to the gantry? A: Four fastening threads M6, 10 deep, tightening torque 7Nm and as an anti-rotation device four dowel pins bore 5H7 10 deep. No 43mm clamping neck is required.
.F: What is the torsional force on the tool holder? A: The twisting force on the cutter is about 5Nm.
.F: What signal is used to adjust the speed? A: with a 0-10V DC signal. IMPORTANT: please make sure that the controller provides an analog signal. With a digital signal from the controller (also called PWM signal), a digital-to-analog converter is required between controller.
.F: How does the spindle behave at 0V control voltage? A: At 0V the spindle stands still, from about 1-9V the speed runs from minimum to maximum value, from 9-10V the spindle runs at maximum speed.
.F: Why is an additional power supply needed for the speed adjustment? A: Unlike many tinkering solutions for speed adjustment that you can find on the net, we work with the signal exchange with a galvanically isolated optocoupler. In the event of damage to the portal control or speed electronics of the milling motor, this ensures that mains voltage is applied via the signal line. The signal side is therefore completely separated from the power electronics. Therefore, this must be supplied separately with voltage.
F: What is the current consumption at the supply voltage 10...29V DC? A: The power supply for the power supply must be able to supply at least 40 mA DC.
.F: What is the input resistance of the control input 0-10V? A: This is about 36 kOhm.
